How It Began
Exchange Accountants was formed in August 2011, after Conor Walls, William Gould and Gary Laverty decided they wanted to make a difference to how businesses looked after their finances. Thus, a management buyout of the firm they were currently working for, saw the start of ‘Exchange Accountants’.
Originally based in Belfast at Murrays, Exchange went on to acquire Fitzmaurice McConville, in August 2019. In March 2020, both practices were moved under one roof at Oakmont House, Lisburn – just in time for the start of the COVID pandemic!
The benefits of cloud accounting were quickly identified, and now we pride ourselves as one of Northern Ireland’s most trusted and effective online accounting specialists. We have worked hard to establish ourselves in this realm early in the digital accounting revolution.

In 2014, we became a partner with global cloud platform, Xero, and we went on to become the first accountancy practice in Northern Ireland to be recognized as a Xero Gold Partner. The company has now been awarded the highest level of partner status, Platinum Partnership, having introduced more than 500 clients to Xero’s ground-breaking software system.
